White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki smugly dismissed questions about Biden's huge $3.5 trillion dollar bill adding to the national debt and actually suggested the reporter report "accurate information".
Here's the transcript:
REPORTER: "Does the president still believe that Build Back Better will not add a dime to the national debt?"
PSAKI: "Correct, it won't."
REPORTER: "Why should Americans believe that?"
PSAKI: "Because it won't."
REPORTER: "What if taxes that he says he wants – you know, to get more taxes in, what if that doesn't happen? What if the economy goes sour? Lots of things can happen. You're going to tell from up there future generations, not even born yet, that they're not on the hook for this. Is that right?"
PSAKI: "That's right and hopefully you'll report accurate information yourself."
The lie that this won't add a penny to the national debt is obviously absurd. But what's so obnoxious about this exchange is the way she handled the question. It was truly a good question and she essentially dismissed it as misinformation, refusing to give it the time of day and then suggesting the reporter tell his viewers "accurate information" about it. Unreal.
